'I'm not a quitter': will fight until next election 2022

Theresa May as she landed in China for her three-day trade visit, the prime minister repeated she was “not a quitter” and said the next election would not be until 2022, as disquiet mounted back in Westminster from backbench Brexiters as well as more liberal Tories who have said they want to see more bold policymaking on issues such as housing, education and the health service. She also shrugged off claims that she was a “tortoise” on delivering radical policies, adding, “I have never tried to compare myself to any animal, or bird or car”. “There’s always more for us to be able to do to talk to people about what we’re achieving,” May told reporters on board her RAF Voyager plane to Wuhan, her first stop for her first bilateral visit to the country. “Yes, we need to ensure that we do speak about the achievements that we’ve seen.”

Alexis Sanchez completed his move to Manchester United from Arsenal, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan heading
the other way in one of the most high-profile swap moves of all time. Chile forward Sanchez, 29, who almost joined Manchester City last summer, has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal worth £14m a year after tax. City ended their interest last week as they felt making him their best-paid player may affect team spirit. Mkhitaryan, 29, moves in the opposite direction to Sanchez after scoring 13 goals in 63 appearances for United. The Armenia international moved to Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund for £26.3m in July 2016. The finishing touches to the deal were made on Monday and an announcement that the two 29-year-olds had traded places was made at 6pm. United's new number seven Sanchez, who missed Arsenal's win over Crystal Palace on Saturday while negotiations over a switch continued, posted a departing message on Instagram where he took aim at ex-Arsenal players that have been critical of him. Martin Keown, a former Gunners defender, had called Sanchez "the biggest mercenary in football", with the Chilean forward earning £500,000 a week at Old Trafford.

"Sadly we have #shithole leaders like Trump shitting on us every day."

Donald Trump has been branded a shocking and shameful racist after it was credibly reported he had described African nations, as well as Haiti and El Salvador as “shitholes” and questioned why so many of their citizens had ever been permitted to enter America.
Shock and outrage greeted Trump's remarks in a meeting with lawmakers on immigration reform on Thursday. Several countries called in US ambassadors for an explanation and to remonstrate with them over the President's language. Lawmakers expressed disappointment and disgust, with one declaring the comments counter to the very "essence of American patriotism." Even as Trump's comments provided fodder for late night comics, they raised questions about whether he has now made it harder for lawmakers to find a compromise to achieve immigration reform. "The African Union Mission wishes to express its infuriation, disappointment and outrage over the unfortunate comment made by Mr. Donald Trump, President of the United States of America, which remarks dishonor the celebrated American creed and respect for diversity and human dignity," the AU mission in Washington said in a statement. The group demanded "a retraction of the comment as well as an apology, not only to the Africans but to all people of African descent around the globe." Saying they believe the administration has a "huge misunderstanding of the African continent," the union said "there is a serious need for dialogue" between the Trump administration and African countries. Africans of all stripes took to social media. Kenyan activist Boniface Mwangi tweeted, "Africa isn't a shithole. It's the most beautiful continent in the world. Beautiful, hardworking people. We have diamonds, gold, iron, cobalt, uranium, copper, bauxite, silver, petroleum, cocoa, coffee, tea etc." "Sadly we have #shithole leaders like Trump shitting on us every day." South Africa's best known morning-news anchor, Leanne Manas, tweeted, "Good morning from the greatest most beautiful 'shithole country' in the world!!!' Elsewhere on Twitter, many Africans posted landscape pictures testifying to the true identity of their nations.
